Wokingham Waterside Centre and its staff provide a variety of ways to enhance young peoples learning. Apart from just being good old fashioned fun, making a paddle involves a number of skills including design, maths and using tools. We can visit your school to assist in the production of the paddles and provide all the equipment. Once made, the paddle is a memorable keepsake that can also be used for undertaking a fun journey in a 6 person Katakanu. You can learn about the wildlife, history, transport and geography on the river
Our Katakanu regattas have proved really successful in promoting water sports to young people. Our stable boats increase water confidence and promote working together as a team in a positive light. We have recieved wonderful feedback from all the schools that have taken part in these events. Students compete against other school teams over a 200 metre course. No previous experience is required and there is time to practice

Our clubs run 6 days a week over the summer and continue on Saturdays over the winter. These sessions are popular for a very good reason.
